On August 27, Brother James Short came and preached to us about “Unthankfuless”. His text was from Psalm 100:1-5: “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
We are either thankful or unthankful. We shouldn’t get the attitude of unthankfulness. God wouldn’t appreciate if we were unthankful. We wouldn’t want to displease Him in any way. The message was very challenging to the LCA students. We need to be thankful to enter into His gates. We need to be thankful to God and to others. Why, because He has blessed us with so much?
We should be thankful for the Truth; without it we wouldn’t be saved. It is such a privilege to have this Truth. There are so many people out there who are hungry and desire to know the Truth. We should be thankful for the Holy Ghost. It’s a gift from God.
Being unthankful is a bad attitude to have towards God. It’s like saying you’re not happy with what God gave you. We should thank God for EVERYTHING. Thank God for your parents; if it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t have a shelter, food, clothing – all the things that you need and want. Be appreciative for what you have; there is always someone who would be thankful to have your blessings.
